About This Game World-famous red-haired adventurer Adol Christin awakens in the unfamiliar land of Celceta, remembering nothing more than his own name. Bereft of his past, Adol explores the town he happened to wander into, searching for any clues at all to his identity. Joined by a thief who claims to have spent some time at his side these past weeks, the young adventurer helps rescue doomed miners from a collapse – an act which ingratiates him to the local Romun Army general. Impressed with their skills, the pair is enlisted to explore the Great Forest of Celceta and map its vast expanses – a task which many have attempted in the past, but from which none have ever returned alive.Eager to unravel the mystery of his past and the cause of his predicament, Adol sets off with his new-old thief friend, Duren, to chart the untamed wilderness that claimed his memories. Along the way he meets numerous other individuals who seem to have encountered him before, and must carefully determine who among them can be trusted.Developer Nihon Falcom originally revisited the land and characters of Japanese cult favorite Ys IV in 2012 with Ys: Memories of Celceta on the PlayStation Vita, and the game found its way to North America the following year. Now, this re-envisioning moves from the small screen to PC monitors, with a bevy of updates and enhancements to fully take advantage of its new platform.Featuring a unique take on the party-based combat system that’s come to define modern Ys titles, as well as one of the largest and most varied overworlds in the series’ long and illustrious history, Ys: Memories of Celceta brings a greater sense of adventure to the Ys universe than ever before, with this PC iteration serving as the definitive version of one of the franchise’s most pivotal entries.Key FeaturesFully Enjoy the Land of Celceta with a Host of PC EnhancementsThis remaster comes with a wide range of HD resolutions, fixed framerates up to 120 fps with the option to unlock the framerate altogether, fully customizable control bindings, fully integrated mouse support, and more!Explore One of the Most Expansive Locales in the Series’ HistoryThe overworld of Celceta metes out battle and exploration in equal measure, accompanied by a robust mapping system with customizable waypoints and clear, detailed icons that aid the journey of Adol and company through this mysterious new land where enigmas and obstacles wait around every bend.Experience a Crucial Cornerstone of Ys LoreThe events that occur over the course of Ys: Memories of Celceta’s lengthy campaign serve as some of the most important and far-reaching in the franchise, yet remain entirely self-contained so even series newcomers can fully enjoy the story.Throw Down the Gauntlet in Time Attack and Boss Rush ModesFan-favorite Time Attack mode returns, complete with its ultimate Boss Rush challenge, pitting Adol alone against implacable foes or allowing for full-on party combat to keep the battle going well after the main story has been completed. Japanese Vioce MOD : https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqXGfp0E1IzegZxeDWrwDhGKFEotCQ. Beautiful game with more gameplay options than you can shake a stick at. A bit grindy (I chose not to level up all of my skills), but the overall experience was great & I appreciated the story, characters, and the world offered. Ys II also offered nice towns, but this world was far more rich. Good game.. Y's never disappoints, memories of celceta is a great addition to the collection and I cant wait to play Ys 8.. Ys: Memories of Celceta has been my favorite Ys game since it introduced me to the series 4 years ago, and this PC port absolutely does not disappoint. Pros:-Combat is as fluid as ever. This game is a 3D Action RPG in which you have a party of 3 characters, taking control of the lead, and two AI controlled partners whom you can switch to with the press of a button. Some tweaks were made to the system from Ys Seven, such as a rewarding flash-dodge option which allows you to slow time for a couple seconds and fire off a bunch of shots, as well as consolidating perfect-guards into a single button. Each of the 6 playable characters are fun to play as and have their own little nuances that make them fun and add replayability. I know Ys 8 touched on the system a little bit more, but given that that game has a shaky-at-best PC port, I don't have the ability to do a thorough comparison. Point is this game is very fun to play for its entire duration.-Music is pure bliss, with Falcom JDK doing what they do best. Most of the soundtrack is rockin, either by arranging tunes from the old school (SNES/PCE) Ys IV games which this title is based on, or just some killer new tracks.-Movement is super fluid and fun, with a ridiculous dodge roll, as well as the single greatest item in the history of Action RPGs about halfway in, which is the Gale Shoes. Put them on and suddenly you become Sonic the damn Hedgehog in terms of movement speed. It also controls surprisingly well, allowing you to tap the sprint button and change direction immediately. I don't know who thought of this idea but it's fun running around like a maniac.-Xseed added a lot of quality of life upgrades to this port, such as allowing for more options in control customization (although forcing the "talk to people" command on the attack button rather than it being linked to the confirm button is a change from the Vita version I wish wasn't made), having Boss Rush modes, easier save files, a super fast forward button to speed through cutscenes, and so on. In addition they are adding some quality of life patches to improve the game even more.Cons:-Volume balancing still needs work. Super attacks cause the character voices to spike in volume, and sound effects are either a bit too loud or way too quiet, without much in between (I swear the difference between 5 and 6 on this is much bigger than it should be). Still a solid game to listen to, the port just needs a couple tweaks in this area. this has been fixed in a patch.-The bosses in this game aren't as memorable or distinct as in some of the earlier Ys games. -Your party AI is generally not very good. They don't always do what you want and there isn't exactly a good way to direct them, as you have only two options for settings (Attacking and Evasive), and they only do about 40% of the damage the player-controlled character does. They're mostly there to have someone to switch to to cover enemy weapon weaknesses or get yourself out of a jam by switching to them. So-So:-The story isn't particularly good, and I did prefer some aspects of the SNES Ys IV to this reimagining of Ys IV. That said, Ys games generally don't do much with their stories anyways, as they are a better source of world-building and lore as opposed to their main plotlines. With Celceta, the story is basically enough to get you through the game, while there's plenty to explore for Ys fans interested in the lore aspect. This is probably the Ys game that actually focuses the most on who Adol actually is in the entire series, and some of the subplots are pretty cool.-Would be nice to have dual-audio, however licensing hell sadly is a thing, so they were unable to get the JP audio. There isn't much in the way of voiceover in this game and the English is fine anyways though.-This is probably the easiest Ys game of the ones on PC. While Hard and Nightmare are still a decent challenge, this game doesn't quite hit those notes that earlier Ys games might in this regard for difficulty enthusiasts. Some people like easier, which is fine. I'd say this game is best served as an introduction to the series for someone who might not feel so inclined to start with the more dated Ys I+II and wants to play a more modern-looking game than Origin.--Despite a few standout flaws, this game is legitimately one of the most fun Action RPGs on Steam. It lasted me about 30 hours on Hard on Vita (doing some of the side content and going for 100% map completion), and had me hooked from the moment I downloaded it to the moment I put it down. Simply put, it is the game that made me fall in love with this tremendous series which I have literally sunk well over a thousand hours into across several titles.. Really like this game. Played only Ys Seven before and probably won't play Ys VIII with its current state, this game is better than Ys Seven in terms of gameplay and content while falling in story. Camera could improve with implementing wider FOV because zoom out FOV isn't wide enough. Great game. The best non-jumping Ys game I've played. Great story graphics and sound too.. Plenty of graphics Configurations like Cold steel. Runs stable 100fps + and no crashes so far. If you played Seven and Ys 8 this is exactly the same and its a good thing. I prefer to play Adol only and not being force to play another charc like in Ys 8. Just sad this is the last Ys probably ported to Steam for a long time. Good job Xseed on another good Ys port
